2階 和室から見た火袋（町家をはじめとする古民家で見られる炊事場の吹き抜け）の壁。
長年薪が焚かれたことで壁についた煤。
それらもひとつの趣と捉えて、壁をあえて洗浄したり、塗り直したりせず、そのまま意匠として見せました。
